Death of ex-Post employee ruled accidental

The death of a former New York Post clerk who was found in her Cobble Hill apartment was ruled an accident, the Post has learned.

After she fell to her kitchen floor, Elizabeth Borst, 55, died from blunt impact trauma to her head and chest, as well as from chronic alcoholism, according to her autopsy report.

She had broken ribs, a broken wrist, a ruptured spleen, and a gash to her head when she was discovered in her home in February. Borst was pronounced dead at Long Island College Hospital.

She worked for The Post’s Letters to the Editor during the ‘90s.

Her husband, Gaetano Lisco, called a neighbor to check on his wife when he couldn’t reach her.

“My wife fell on the kitchen floor and broke her arm,” he told the Post at the time.

No criminality is suspected.
