Strange bedfellows: Rodman’s bad boy buddy

The Issue: Dennis Rodman’s recent visit to North Korea, and his positive opinion of Kim Jong-un.

It makes my blood boil seeing another celebrity idiot like Dennis Rodman disrespecting our country by gushing over North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un and raving about what a real nice guy he is (“Freakshow Lessons,” Benny Avni, PostOpinion, March 5).

Maybe Rodman just wanted to “Gangnam Style” with him.

All Rodman needs is a communist hat and a few North Korean tanks to pose on to officially be labeled the biggest traitor since “Hanoi Jane” Fonda. C. Bisgnano

How and why was Rodman allowed to visit North Korea?

Was it to get diplomatic relations started between the two countries? And was he really sincere in his comments about the country and its leader?

I will know the answers if the president takes Kim up on his offer and calls.

I can see it now: America is in sequester, yet the president will somehow find billions to give to North Korea, all in an effort to have them become our friend.

It is comforting to know that our negotiations with North Korea have been turned over to Rodman — the “highest-profile American” ever to meet with Kim.

Rodman has all the credentials on his resume to qualify him for this new position.

Having had a turbulent but successful career in the NBA, mostly in Detroit and a few years in Chicago, he has dealt with the likes of young Kim on a daily basis.

As a likely fan of President Obama, Rodman can probably recite “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky verbatim — a must when dealing with people like Kim.

Rodman has a few DUIs and a few domestic-violence charges on his rap sheet, and some 70 visits by Newport Beach police for loud and out-of-control parties at his house — all perfect resume points for his appointment.

After his first meeting with Kim, Rodman called the authoritarian dictator an “awesome guy.”

North Korea fired off another nuclear test two weeks ago.

No problem — I’m sure Rodman can smooth things over.

The moronic traitor Rodman said Kim, his father and grandfather were great leaders.

Hey, Dennis, you useful idiot, what about the millions murdered and all those starving in North Korea?

Too bad he didn’t have a one-way ticket.
