White powder sent to ear doctor ‘over faulty hearing aid’

A letter laced with white powder was sent to a Manhattan ear doctor to complain about a faulty hearing aid — causing a bioterror scare and building lockdown on Monday, authorities said.

Dozens of cops and firefighters swarmed 654 Madison Ave., near 60th Street, when a Dunshaw Audiology and Hearing Aid Center employee called 911 to say two workers were exposed to an unidentified substance that spilled out of an envelope, authorities said.

“The person who opened it and one other person were exposed to white powder,” a police source said.

The two were decontaminated at the scene — apparently as a precaution — and cops were seen carrying two bags marked “infectious waste” out of the building shortly before noon. A police source said test results on the white powder were not immediately available.
