HBO honors Gandolfini by re-running ‘Sopranos’ over next 6 months on OnDemand

HBO is paying homage to the late James Gandolfini by re-running each season of “The Sopranos” over the next six months on HBO On Demand.

The seasons will run for one month each, in consecutive, chronological order, HBO said yesterday.

Season One is available throughout July, and will be followed next month by Season Two, with subsequent seasons available in the months thereafter.

“The Sopranos” ran for six seasons on HBO from 1999 through 2007. The Writer’s Guild recently voted it the best-written show in television history.

This Thursday, July 4, HBO will also repeat “Alive Day Memories: Home From Iraq” at 7 p.m. The Emmy-nominated documentary was executive-produced by Gandolfini.

The “Sopranos” star died June 19 in Rome, Italy at the age of 51 after suffering a heart attack while there to attend a film festival.
