Huma Abedin campaigns alongside hubby Anthony Weiner

Mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner took his wife on the campaign trail yesterday for the first time — a signal that she’s squarely in her man’s corner.

Huma Abedin, a longtime Hillary Clinton aide, attended two church services on Staten Island, walked the hot streets of Harlem and stopped in two restaurants to accompany Weiner as he worked the lunch crowds.

The couple claimed Abedin’s entrance on the trail had nothing to do with comptroller candidate Eliot Spitzer, whose own wife, Silda, has yet to join him in public appearances.

“I don’t know what his situation is. It’s not intended to be that way,” Weiner told The Post. “It’s just what we’re doing today.”

He said that his wife is usually too busy caring for their young son to join him but that her mother was in town yesterday to baby-sit.
