Prince Street apartment nets $4.9M in flip

Holy flip! An apartment at 102 Prince St., across from the Mercer Hotel, just sold for $13.8 million. That’s a whopping $4.9 million profit for the seller, who bought the apartment in March 2013, for $8.9 million. The sale marks the highest price anyone has paid for a non-penthouse unit in SoHo. It’s also unusual because it is in a non-doorman building, with no washer and dryer in the apartment.

The three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom loft condo is 4,000 square feet. Access is by a private, key-locked elevator. The gallery hall leads into a large living space with a glassed-in gas fireplace, floor-to-ceiling “airport quiet” windows, 14-foot ceilings, grand columns, walls of built-in bookshelves and mahogany floors. There’s also an eat-in chef’s kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a center island with a wine cooler and seating.

In addition, the home includes an “executive-style” library, a gym/playroom with stairs to a lofted media room and a master bedroom. Douglas Elliman’s Tal and Oren Alexander, of the Alexander Team, were the sole brokers involved in the deal, but declined comment.
