Two people die after leaping in front of LIRR train in Queens: police sources

Two people died last night when they leaped in front of an LIRR train in Queens, police sources said.

The victims were struck by the Manhattan-bound train at the Hollis station at 193rd Street and 99th Avenue at around 10:20 p.m., according to police.

Witnesses said that they saw the pair jump from the platform as the train was approaching the station.

Passengers on the train had to wait nearly two hours as the victims’ bodies were extracted from underneath the cars.

Authorities did not say last night whether the incident was a suicide.
