Two critical after Queens house fire

Two people were in critical condition this morning after a fire tore through the second floor of a two-family home in Queens.

Firefighters responded to the Fresh Meadows home at around 2:00 a.m. where 10 people were rescued after becoming trapped on the top floor, FDNY Deputy Chief Mark Ferran told The Post.

Three people were seriously injured, including a 3-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, Ferran said. A firefighter was also injured in the blaze.

“One little girl was knocked out unconscious,” said Phillip Segobia, 17, a neighbor. “They were running her to the ambulance.”

Ferran said the fire — which is believed to have started in the kitchen — was contained to the top floor were the victims were in back bedrooms.

Neighbor Ugur Demirkiran, 48, said New York’s Bravest rescued most of the family through second-floor windows.

“There was a lot of smoke coming from the second floor. The mother, father, the kids were all screaming,” Demirkiran said.

Abraham Abdurakhmanov, 14, said he was woken up by their neighbor.

“I woke up to a bunch of smoke. The mother woke us up, banging on our door,” Abdurakhmanov said. “She was yelling ‘fire, fire.’ It was very scary, very frightening.”

Abdurakhmanov lives on the first floor with his parents who own the home.
