Pimp is slapped with jail

A pimp who beat and raped his Upper East Side hookers was sentenced to 62 years in prison yesterday despite insisting the victims were actually happy employees who kept going back to work for him.

“The court may not like me — I don’t like me — but I didn’t do those things,” Donnell Baines, 39, said, referring to his October conviction for rape, promoting prostitution, sex abuse and unlawful imprisonment.

“It defies basic human experience for somebody to [be raped] and not say anything and to keep leaving and coming back,” he told Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Patricia Nunez.

Baines kept at least four women, including a 16-year-old, in his East 77th Street home but claimed to only run a Webcam porn service.

Nunez called the women’s continued attraction to their pimp “mystifying.”

Defense lawyer Anastasios Sarikas said he expects the “excessive” sentence to be overturned on appeal.
