Fast-food walkout

Demanding better pay and the right to unionize, hundreds of New York fast-food workers walked off the job yesterday.

At a McDonald’s across from Yankee Stadium, dozens chanted, “We can’t survive on $7.25,” and called for a minimum-wage increase to $15 an hour.

Neither McDonald’s, Burger King nor Wendy’s responded to requests for comment. Organizers said similar strikes are planned nationwide this week.
