A Brooklyn sex fiend has preyed on women in Bensonhurst in five separate incidents since May – and may be responsible for a string of similar sexual attacks two years ago, police said yesterday.
Detectives have posted sketches of the alleged molester – described as a Hispanic man 20 to 25 years old – around the neighborhood.
Cops say he may have a scar or birthmark near his left eye and that his five victims ranged in age from 13 to 54.
In the first assault, on May 18 at 11 p.m., he walked up behind a 19-year-old woman on the street, fondled her breasts and buttocks, then knocked her to the ground, cops said.
Later that month, on May 23 at 2 a.m., he followed a 21-year-old woman into an elevator and sexually assaulted and fondled her, police said.
In the third incident, he followed a 13-year-old girl into an elevator around noon on June 4, fondled her breasts and fled, cops said.
Later that same day, at 9 p.m., he grabbed a 24-year-old woman from behind as she entered a building and fondled her breasts.
In the last attack, on July 3 at 4:30 a.m., he entered a 54-year-old sleeping woman’s bedroom through a window. She woke to find him standing over her. He fled when she screamed.
Investigators say they’re trying to determine if he’s the same man responsible for nearly a dozen similar sexual attacks in the same area during the summer of 1998. There were no arrests in those incidents.
