Aaron Hernandez is maintaining that he isn’t guilty, but says God put him in jail for a reason, the disgraced former New England Patriots player wrote in a letter to a fan.

“I’m humbled by this already and this will change me forever,” Hernandez wrote in the note obtained by TMZ.

The 23-year-old vowed at the end of the letter to return to the NFL and sign the piece of paper for the fan, who had spent time in the same Bristol County (Mass.) jail 15 years ago and wrote Hernandez for support.

“The world just makes things out of false accusations and it will all die down especially when they say not guilty and all the people who turned on me will feel like crap,” Hernandez wrote.

Hernandez has been charged with the murder of former associate Odin Lloyd, who was dating Hernandez’s fiancee’s sister. He’s also being investigated for involvement in a 2012 shooting in Boston and being sued by a former friend who claims Hernandez shot him in the face.

“I’ve always been a great person and known for having an amazing heart,” Hernandez wrote. “I am a strong person and nothing will break me.”

The former tight end also added on the bottom “keep this off social media.” The “fan” did one better, selling the scrawl to TMZ.
