UES teen in traffic tragedy

A teenage employee of a popular Upper East Side candy shop was killed last night when a tractor-trailer ran her over outside the store on Third Avenue, according to a law-enforcement source.

The 16-year-old cashier at Dylan’s Candy Bar was struck at 60th Street and Third Avenue at about 10:15 p.m. when the tractor-trailer making a wide turn onto the avenue struck her, police said.

A 66-year-old passer-by who witnessed the tragedy said he tried to help the teen — but the impact was too devastating.

“I’m coming from a restaurant and next thing you know she’s on the ground,” he said. “She was, like, done. It was, like, instant.”

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was being withheld pending family notification.

The tractor-trailer, which bore the name KSP Transportation, stopped about three blocks up Third Avenue, police said.

Dylan’s Candy Bar is a boutique candy store owned by Dylan Lauren, the daughter of fashioner designer Ralph Lauren.

The chain store has outlets in cities including Miami, Los Angeles and East Hampton, LI.

The store has been featured on shows such as “Gossip Girl,” “Project Runway” and “Cake Boss.”
