Lundqvist has pinstripes on his mind … and mask

Henrik Lundqvist has attended Yankees games in The Bronx from time to time. But he will really honor the Bronx Bombers later this month as part of the NHL Stadium Series.

The Rangers goaltender will eschew his normal hockey mask for a special stylized version that honors Yankees greats for the outdoor games at the Stadium.

The new mask has Yankees pinstripes down the front and images of Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio and Lou Gehrig along the right side. It was painted by Dave Gunnarsson and unveiled on Thursday.

The Rangers meet the Devils Jan. 26 and the Islanders Jan. 29 at the Stadium.
