‘90s excess abounds in new ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ trailer

A new trailer for Martin Scorcese and Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest team-up, “The Wolf of Wall Street,” was released Wednesday, and while it may lack the Kanye West-soundtracked mania of the first, it packs just as much high rolling excess.

The film, which marks the fifth time the actor and hall of fame director have worked together, tells the real life story stock broker Jordan Belfort, who made millions in the ’90s before being jailed for crimes related to market manipulation. Joining in on the fun are actors Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey and Kyle Chandler.

Where the two trailers differ most, is that the first only hinted at this story, while as the second really starts to sketch out Belfort’s meteoric rise and calamitous fall.

As he says half way through the clip, “The real question is this: Was all this legal? Absolutely not.”

Despite the added pathos, the film looks like just as much of a blast as it did when we got our first glimpse of it back in June.

“The Wolf of Wall Street” is set to come out on December 25.
