KILLER CRASH – WOMAN FLUNG FROM CAR AS IT FLIPS OVER

A “very bright” Brooklyn college student who left home for a night out with friends was killed after the car she was riding in flipped over on the Belt Parkway, police and the woman’s shattered relatives said yesterday.

“She said, ‘Mom, I’m going out,’ then she kissed me goodbye,” said sobbing mother Victoria Kapelevich, of her daughter’s last words to her at the family’s Brighton Beach home Saturday evening.

Marinna Kapelevich, 22, was traveling in a 2002 Acura driven by a 24-year-old friend around 11 p.m. Saturday when the driver suddenly lost control of his vehicle at the 17th Avenue pedestrian bridge, authorities said.

The vehicle plowed into a center guardrail before flipping over several times, cops said.

Kapelevich, who was in the back seat, was flung out of the car to her death, police said.

The woman, a junior at Kingsborough Community College, was pronounced dead about 45 minutes later at Coney Island Hospital.

The car’s other two occupants – the driver and a 21-year-old woman – were treated and released with minor injuries at Lutheran Hospital, police said.

Kapelevich came to the United States about 10 years ago from her native Kiev, Ukraine, relatives said.

At about 7 p.m. Saturday, the psychology major told her parents she was going out to meet with friends.

She asked her father if she should wear a coat because of the weather.

“So she said, ‘Daddy, is it hot outside? What should I wear?’ ” her grieving mom recalled.

“And he said, ‘Wear a jacket, it’s November,’ ” the mom said.

The distraught father was heard sobbing from another room at the home yesterday.

Victoria said police arrived at the family’s house at 1 a.m. yesterday and took the stunned relatives to the hospital.

That’s when “we met the doctor and nurse and they told us what happened,” Victoria said.

The entire turn of events left the mother staggered and struggling to come to grips with the loss of her daughter.

“I have no feelings now,” the devastated mom said. “I feel numb. I can’t describe what I feel.”

Marinna’s sister, Taisiya Kapelevich, 28, described her only sibling as “very bright.”

“We were very close,” she said.

An investigation is continuing.

Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
