KILLER’S ‘FUN’ DAY IN COURT

The sadistic killer who burned, beat and raped a college student said yesterday that stabbing his lawyer in an unsuccessful courtroom escape attempt was “the most fun” he’s ever had.

Before being hit with an additional 22 years for the botched escape try, Kayson Pearson, 24 – already serving life for the unspeakably brutal murder of the young woman – told a stunned courtroom, “We did it for fun. It was fun to see a system that has so much power and control lose it in a second.

“That day, Jan. 19, 2006, was the most fun I have had in my entire life.

“The judge, he’s the one with all the power, was running away, bumping his knee.”

Pearson lunged at his court-appointed lawyer with a concealed shiv, while co-defendant Troy Hendrix, 22, vaulted over the defense table in an attempt to swipe a gun from a court officer.

Hendrix, his accomplice in both the murder of Ramona Moore and the failed escape, also got 22 years added to his life sentence.

Pearson, who is black, also claimed the courtroom mayhem was politically correct.

“We all know that this society is constructed to keep the African-American and Latino community oppressed,” he said.

He praised defendants who refuse to “stand there and get sentenced.”

The pair has also said their 2003 attack on Moore, a black woman, was fun.

Hendrix continued to insist that during the failed escape, he went for a court officer’s gun only in an effort to kill himself.

“My only regret is not getting that gun out of the holster,” he said.
