GIVING UP ON CARTER – AS HE GIVES UP ON PEACE

Why would a former president back our enemies (“Jimmy for Terror,” Editorial, Jan. 15)?

Jimmy Carter sold his opinion and support to the highest bidder – in this case, the Arab terrorists and their supporters.

This just goes to show how leftist the Nobel committee is in granting its prize.

One wonders if the 444-day hostage situation in Tehran was deliberately overlooked by President Carter.

The best thing Carter could do for his country is quietly fade from the scene to save whatever legacy he still might have.

Enough, already, of this bitter old man.

The most scandalous consequence of Watergate was the election of Carter as president.

Carter has received more than $1 million from the likes of the very same munificent groups that finance global jihad.

The least Carter could do is register as a paid foreign agent of Arab jihadist governments.

His failed strategies during the embarrassing Iran hostage crisis evidently taught him, “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.”

This former president has stepped over to the dark side with his recent book, and it is apparent that he is losing his sense of reality.

“Jimmy for Terror” speaks volumes as to how misguided this man is. It’s important for former presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush, as well as President Bush, to publicly speak out and condemn Carter for his belligerent and caustic remarks against the democratic state of Israel.

Carter has done the impossible. He, alone, has reduced the Mideast peace process to a compound sentence: All will be well if Israel follows international law.

I guess suicide bombers are a local law issue.

The Democrats will never disown Carter, but The Post should call for having his name removed from the submarine and replaced with someone like Hyman Rickover.

You are either with us or with the terrorists, correct?

So why stop at branding Carter a terrorism supporter? Has not Bishop Desmond Tutu also criticized Israel’s tactics and policies toward the Palestinian people with the term apartheid?

Now that the equation is clear, draft a big list. If you find fault with the U.S. government, you are aiding al Qaeda, and if you find fault with the Israeli government, you are a terrorist-loving anti- Semite.

Why even read Carter’s book and judge the facts when The Post can just do the math in advance?

Any honest reader of “Palestine: Peace, Not Apartheid” will recognize that Carter presents all points of view in a restrained and objective manner.

Nowhere in his study, or in his existence, has he advocated any violence. His book merely summarizes what has already been established by other writers.

Carter presents the incontrovertible facts and consequences of Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories. It is not surprising that he is being excoriated, because the truth is often hard to take.

Anyone who has the courage to question the unjust policies of the Israeli government automatically will be labeled an anti-Semite. Four decades of human-rights violations are incompatible with the religious and secular values of Jewish tradition.

It’s incredible that Carter is so confused regarding the Palestinian problem. How can a man with such one- sided feelings get a Nobel Peace Prize?

What is it that the liberals don’t understand about the War on Terror?

The terrorists don’t want to compromise. They want to implement their Islamist law and kill all infidels – which means anyone who is not a radical Islamic fundamentalist.

The anti-Jewish hatred coming from Carter is, of course, hateful and offensive, but it’s not that surprising. Carter has always been a lightweight with no spine.

What is truly incredible is not what a hate-monger Carter is, but how Jews in America continue to overwhelmingly support and defend him and his party.
