HORROR AS BUS KILLS WOMAN IN CONEY ISLAND

A charter bus fatally struck an unidentified 60-year-old woman in Coney Island yesterday morning, horrified witnesses and police said.

The woman was crossing West Avenue at Ocean Parkway just before 10 a.m. when a bus making a right turn knocked her down, according to witnesses.

Then, they said, it ran over her stomach.

“I saw the bus coming, and I started to wave at the driver [to get him to stop],” said Michael Feldman, 56, who was walking his dog. “She was still walking and didn’t see him. The driver didn’t understand what I was waving for.

“Then he clipped her with the front of the bus. She fell down on her face and looked up at me. Within a second, the wheel ran over her.”

The driver stopped, and no criminal charges were filed.

His employer, Stout’s Charter & Bus Service, based in Trenton, N.J., did not return calls for comment.

“No one should ever have to see this,” Feldman said. “It was horrible.

“I couldn’t save her.”
