DR. PHIL SPREADS OUT

‘DR. Phil” McGraw is working on a spinoff of his hit talk show.

McGraw, whose own show, “Dr. Phil,” was spun off from “Oprah,” is looking to launch his own franchise with “The Doctors” – a panel show featuring doctors discussing a variety of medical issues.

The show, being pitched by CBS’ syndication arm, would be produced by McGraw and his son, Jay McGraw, under their Stage 29 Productions company, according to trade reports.

Among the doctors being considered for the panel is Travis Stork, who’s appeared on “Dr. Phil” and starred on Season 8 of ABC’s “The Bachelor” in the winter of 2006.

“The Doctors” would be given a promotional push by having the panelists appear this season on “Dr. Phil” – much like Phil McGraw’s appearances on “Oprah” led to the successful launch of “Dr. Phil.”

A spokeswoman for CBS Television Distribution declined to comment yesterday.
