PHOENIX – Lawyers for the family of Carol Anne Gotbaum set up a confidential tip line yesterday to track down witnesses who may have information about her Sept. 28 death in police custody at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
“We just want a means of making it easier for citizens who may have witnessed something to let us know what they saw and when they saw it,” said Michael Manning, the family’s lawyer in Phoenix.
He said he is hoping to find passengers who flew on the same US Airways flight into Phoenix and those flying to Tucson the same day. The toll-free telephone number is (877) 879-1926.
Gotbaum – married to Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum’s stepson – died in an airport holding cell.
