ID THIEF RIPS OFF EDITOR

Lally Weymouth, a Newsweek senior editor and daughter of the late Washington Post publisher Katherine Graham, was taken for more than $4,000 by a personal assistant with a history of ID fraud, authorities said yesterday.

The assistant, Keely Tillona, 48, was hired by Weymouth in December 2006, just a month after getting out of Rikers Island for committing the same type of crimes.

Law-enforcement sources said Tillona began stealing from the hand that fed her in spring 2007.

First, in early May, various charges were made on Weymouth’s Chase Visa card at Lord and Taylor’s, Yes Cleaners, and the tony dressmaker Tory Burch – totaling $1,226.28, authorities said.

Then, on May 23, Tillona allegedly pinched her boss’s Bergdorf Goodman card and bought a Chanel bag for $2,113.31.

Tillona later cashed a $752 check made out to Weymouth in her own husband’s account, law-enforcement sources said.

Last Friday, Weymouth noticed the leak in her bank account and called police. Tillona was arrested on Monday and is currently being held on Rikers Island in lieu of $15,000 bail.
