FOREST CITY’S NEW PREZ

Forest City Ratner Cos., the company behind the Atlantic Yards development project in Brooklyn, has named Joanne Minieri as president and chief operating officer.

At the same time, Bruce Ratner, who previously was president and CEO, will become chairman and CEO of Forest City Ratner.

As part of her new role, Minieri will continue to work with Ratner on directing development projects, managing the company’s daily operations and moving forward with the company’s strategic plans.

Minieri joined the company in 1995 and has since directed the development of some of Forest City Ratner’s largest and most high-profile projects, including Brooklyn’s MetroTech Center, the New York Times Building near Times Square and Atlantic Yards. She also worked closely with Ratner in talks to acquire the New Jersey Nets in 2004.

Forest City Ratner is a wholly owned subsidiary of Forest City Enterprises, which owns 32 properties in the metro area.
