WHAT’S UP

TODAY IN THE SWING: Kicking off the perennially popular Jazz for Young People concert series, the perennially boyish Wynton Marsalis and his Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will show kids 6 and older how rhythm can tell a tale. Noon and 2 p.m., $12, $17 and $32. Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street; (212) 721-6500.

TINY DANCERS: The 75-member Celebration Team from Jacques d’Ambroise’s National Dance Institute has performed at the White House and the U.N. – and not one of the dancers is over 15. See them perform excerpts from “An African Village: Postcards from Potou” and more. 2 p.m., $20 and $25 for adults, $13 for kids. Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway, at 95th Street; (212) 864-5400.

TOMORROW DRUM MAJORS: If sticks and cymbals make up the sum of your drum knowledge, head to a Percussion People concert, where Italian hand drums, African djembe drums and

more get plenty of play. Kids are invited to a pre-show (10:30 a.m.) workshop to build their own drums to play

during the show. 11 a.m., $25 (includes workshop). The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal St., between Third and Bleecker streets; (212) 352-3101.

INTO THE WILD: Sure, the Bronx Zoo has got animals of every stripe, but it also has 265 acres of another kind of wildlife. Harvest Day invites families to explore these vast woods – for free – by taking self-guided nature walks along its Mitsubishi Riverwalk, accessible from the parking lot. Inside the zoo’s gates this weekend, expect leaf crafts, storytelling, hayrides and apple cider. 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., $14 for adults, $10 for kids (hayrides $3 extra). The Bronx Zoo, Bronx River Parkway and Fordham Road; (718) 367-1010.
