The Subway sandwich chain won an unsolicited endorsement yesterday from a guy who doesn’t usually make commercial pitches: Mayor Bloomberg.
The mayor disclosed he’s a fan of the fast-food shops, which happen to be one of the few restaurants to voluntarily post calorie counts.
“I love Subway sandwiches. I think they’re a great deal, good for the money and taste great.”
Aides said the mayor doesn’t eat them at City Hall but tends to grab them on the run. His favorites are said to be turkey (280 calories) and vegetable (230 calories).
