MITT HITS RUDY OVER HEALTH ‘FLIP-FLOP’

Republican rivals Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani continued their slugfest yesterday – with Romney accusing the ex-New York mayor of flip-flopping on Hillary Clinton‘s health-care proposals.

Romney, campaigning in Florida, cited comments Giuliani made in 1994 praising Clinton’s health-care initiative as “doing some pretty good things.”

Clinton was the architect of hubby and former President Bill Clinton’s doomed plan.

“Why the change? Why the change in attitude?” Romney asked.

“He was all roses and petals for Hillary’s plan . . . Now that I’m running for president, he’s decided it’s not such a good idea,” Romney said after touring a children’s hospital in St. Petersburg.

Giuliani had attacked the universal health-care plan enacted in Massachusetts when Romney was governor, saying “Mitt-Care” was identical to “HillaryCare.”

The “Mitt-Care” program requires all citizens to obtain health insurance or get socked with tax penalties.
