Former Jet superstar Curtis Martin set many records on the football field, but he won’t be setting any real-estate records in Brooklyn.
The retired NFL running back has decided not to buy the borough’s most expensive apartment – a $7.25 million waterfront penthouse with staggering views of Manhattan, a Jets spokesman confirmed Friday.
No reason was given.
The news comes three months after The Post reported that the 34-year-old gridiron great was reviewing a contract he had drawn up to buy the flagship penthouse unit being built at 1 Brooklyn Bridge Park in Brooklyn Heights.
Robert Levine, developer of the complex, declined to comment.
The so-called “sky house” Martin was eyeing will consist of a 4,638- square-foot triplex with breathtaking, 360-degree views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines from inside the long-delayed state-planned park.
The luxury pad’s price is almost double that of the current record sales figure for a Brooklyn condo: $3.8 million shelled out for a penthouse in Williamsburg.
Martin retired in July as the NFL’s fourth-leading all-time rusher.
