Trump cites Obama in AG probe against Trump U.

Donald Trump yesterday accused President Obama of being part of a plot hatched against him by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

Trump — who has questioned whether the president was really born in the United States — claimed Schneiderman consulted Obama before filing a suit accusing Trump University of defrauding 5,000 students.

Trump noted Schneiderman filed the $40 million civil suit against him two days after meeting Obama during the president’s upstate tour last week.

“They meet on Thursday evening. I get sued by this AG Schneiderman on Saturday at 1 o’clock. Think of it. What government agency in the history of this country has ever brought a suit on Saturday? I never heard of such a thing,” Trump said on “Fox & Friends.”

“They obviously did it very quickly, but probably Obama — maybe this is a mini IRS,” Trump said, referring to the recent scandal over improper IRS audits of Tea Party groups.

For his part, Schneiderman confirmed that he met with Obama in Syracuse. But he swatted down the conspiracy theory.

“The president and I had much more important stuff to talk about than Donald Trump . . . I’ve never discussed Donald Trump with the president,” Schneiderman told CNN.

Schneiderman’s lawsuit accuses Trump of operating a phony university that promised to make students rich but instead steered them into expensive and mostly useless seminars.
