BRODEUR TABBED ALL-STAR

The Rangers’ Henrik Lunqvist may be The King, but Martin Brodeur is The People’s Choice.

Brodeur yesterday finally beat Lundqvist this season, topping him in the popular vote for his fourth starting berth in the NHL All-Star Game, and 10th trip to the midseason event, this time Jan. 27 in Atlanta.

“The way we’ve been going,” Brodeur said, “it’s pretty similar stats-wise between me and him.”

Then after a long pause, he added the obvious and undeniable. “Except that he’s 4-0 and I’m 0-4 against him.”

Lundqvist finished second in Eastern Conference goaltender voting, Brodeur drawing 220,392 votes, Lundqvist 175,350. Brodeur was the only player from the three area teams to make the starting lineup. Sidney Crosby, Vincent Lecavalier and Daniel Alfredsson and defensemen Andrei Markov and Zdeno Chara are the other East starters, while goalie Roberto Luongo, defensemen Nicklas Lidstrom and Dion Phaneuf and forwards Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk and Jarome Iginla are the West starters.
