WALL ST. CEO CHARGED IN HIT-AND-RUN DEATH

A Wall Street executive was slapped with vehicular manslaughter charges today after he allegedly plowed his Mercedes SUV into a Brooklyn woman late light night, sped off and then refused to submit to a drunk-driving test.

George Anderson, founder and CEO of the technology firm Enterprise Engineering, allegedly struck the 59-year-old woman, along Water Street in lower Manhattan shortly before 11 p.m., police said.

After hitting the woman, Anderson, who lives in West Hampton, drove away but returned to the scene about five minutes later, according to investigators.

He refused to take a Breathalyzer and blood tests to determine if he was intoxicated, police said.

The victim, identified as Florence Cioffi of Gerritsen Beach was pronounced dead at New York Downtown Hospital.

It is unclear when Anderson, 47, will be arraigned. In addition to vehicular manslaughter, the executive also faces charges of criminally negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.

“It’s a tough time right now for everyone,” said William Trapani, senior vice president at Enterprise Engineering. “The thing is a tragic accident, we feel very sorry for the family [of the victim].”
