YULE LOG GOES HI-DEF

The simple Yule Log has gone high-tech.

An in-demand version of the holiday-themed faux-fire place will be available this year in hi-def, turning even the flattest of flat-screen TV’s into crackling fake flame machines accompanied by Christmas music.

The in-demand channels will also offer channels featuring a snowman in a windy storm backed by holiday music and another channel with a view of a wintery pine forest. Both will offer music in Dolby 5.1 surround sound.

The original Yule Log, which this year is celebrating its 42nd anniversary, will also be airing for four hours, as usual, on WPIX/Ch. 11 starting at 9 a.m. on Dec. 25.
