BOLEYN ALLEY

Natalie Portman had our sympathy when she appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman” last month and admitted to Dave that she was “homeless right now and I’m residing with my parents [in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island].”

“It’s rough,” she added.

Perhaps the star of “The Other Boleyn Girl,” who just sold and closed on her three-bedroom condo at 165 Charles St. for her last asking price of $6.55 million, got fed up with household chores – because she’s now bunking in Manhattan’s Financial District.

Witnesses tell us the sultry siren is renting a one-bedroom, two-bath apartment that features two home offices at 15 Broad St., a.k.a. Downtown by Philippe Starck. Hopefully Portman’s taking advantage of the building’s amenities, which include a bowling alley, swimming pool and a fitness center.

Good deal hunting

Unlike Wall Street’s bonus-challenged bankers, Matt Damon seems to have plenty of cash.

The actor and producer is perusing $20 million-plus apartments, especially on the Upper West Side.

“He’s been looking at possible apartment-combination opportunities along Central Park West,” said one source.

Perhaps Damon has simply grown tired of movie companies hanging 50-foot ads on the side of his downtown loft building. That’s what Universal Studios did last year when they were promoting Damon’s “The Bourne Ultimatum” with the tagline “Bourne Comes Home.”

Groban voices some concern

Just when you thought New York couldn’t get any more exciting, now comes word that Josh Groban is looking to become a part-time Manhattanite.

The singer, accompanied by a very attractive young woman, was spotted touring a two-bedroom duplex penthouse at 155 Perry St. with a $3.85 million asking price.

Because of his dog, Groban was concerned with the spiral staircase leading to the private irrigated and landscaped roof deck, and discussed the possibility of adding rubber treads to the stairs.

Other features of the unit include a dining room, an open kitchen with a wine refrigerator, a woodburning fireplace, river views and 10-foot ceilings.

Tom Postilio, of Core Group Marketing, has the exclusive listing.

Pied in full

Adam Bronfman, the youngest and perhaps least known son of Edgar Bronfman Sr., has just shelled out $7 million for a combined four-bedroom pied-à-terre at 170 East End Ave.

Bronfman also has residences in Phoenix and Park City, Utah, and reportedly spends at least one week per month in Manhattan as the managing director of the Samuel Bronfman Foundation, his father’s New York-based philanthropic entity.

Bronfman purchased the condo under his Mighty Bum III LLC.

Other buyers in the recently constructed stone-and-glass structure overlooking Carl Schurz Park include Mets ace Johan Santana, who paid just more than $3 million for a three-bedroom place, and Vornado executive Michael Fascitelli, who reportedly spent around $16 million for a 7,000-square-foot spread that includes a private basketball court.
