HOLY CRU$ADE

Two popular New York bands will rock Times Square this weekend to help raise funds for the historic Church of the Holy Cross.

Seeking Homer, a raucous acoustic group, will be at Bar 9 tonight at 10 for a special gig, while indie favorite The Bogmen will take over the Nokia Theatre for a rare reunion concert tomorrow night at 7.

Both bands are asking fans to give to the Holy Cross Christmas Appeal.

The landmark parish, headed by the Rev. Peter Colapietro, has been financially devastated by a rectory fire and staggering repair bills to the church’s crumbling facade and ceilings.

“We all read about their trouble and said, ‘We gotta help,’ said Bar 9 manager Kieran Burke.

Tickets to Seeking Homer are free. Call 212-BAR-NINE for information. Tickets to The Bogmen are available through ticketmaster.com.

The 156-year-old church feeds 18,200 needy New Yorkers through its food Pantry. The adjacent Holy Cross school provides an education for 276 kids from all five boroughs.

Bar 9 will also take donations at a pre-party for tonight’s Seeking Homer show and an after-party for The Bogmen’s concert tomorrow.
