GUN-SHY PLAX GONE IN A FLASH

He arrived to a crowd of media; he learned his new court date; he quietly shook a half-dozen hands. And then he hopped in his Escalade and was gone.

New York Giants star receiver and gun nut Plaxico Burress breezed in and out of Manhattan Criminal Court in 15 minutes yesterday, with little happening besides the setting of a June 15 return date.

He stayed silent in the face of reporters’ questions and a flurry of “Hey! Plaxico!” shout-outs.

Burress is charged with gun possession for shooting himself in the leg Nov. 29 at the Latin Quarter nightclub in Manhattan. That charge carries a minimum of 3½ years in prison.

He has yet to be indicted pending ongoing investigations. Negotiations are continuing behind the scenes for Burress to possibly take a lesser plea to attempted gun possession.

Asked by reporters afterward whether Burress would play for the Giants this year, his lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, said, “It’s not my decision. It’s the Giants’ decision and Plaxico’s decision. It’s not a legal decision, it’s a sports decision.”
