KIDD ACCUSER CAN’T USE ‘JANE DOE’ TAG

Sure, it’s embarrassing.

But the drop-dead-gorgeous plus-size model who claims hoop star Jason Kidd groped her in a West Village nightclub last fall has to step out of the shadows and identify herself, a judge has ruled.

Jennifer Maitland, a Fort Lauderdale, Fla., beauty who anonymously sued Kidd in December for sexual battery over the alleged foul, had argued she be allowed to remain a “Jane Doe” to avoid “embarrassment” in the case.

Manhattan Supreme Court judge Carol Edmead, in a ruling Thursday, noted the Manhattan DA’s Office declined to prosecute the alleged victim’s case against the NBA star.

And as a result, Edmead ruled, the “scale tips in favor of disclosure.”

The judge added that the 23-year-old model had “plainly insufficient” grounds to invoke the state civil rights law that protects the privacy of alleged sex-offense victims – and her wish to avoid embarrassment doesn’t trump the public’s right to open court proceedings.
