TEXAS RACE A DEAD HEAT

A poll released yesterday showed the Texas Democratic primary is still too close to call.

Barack Obama leads Hillary Rodham Clinton by 1 point, 46 percent to 45 percent, according to a Star-Telegram/McClatchy/MSNBC poll conducted over the weekend.

Obama continues to get high marks from men and black voters, who have led him to 11 consecutive victories since Feb. 5.

But Clinton’s Hispanic support is more than double Obama’s after a week of intense campaigning by both sides in the community.

Just over half of the women surveyed said they would vote for Clinton, compared to 40 percent who said they would support Obama. Obama led men 54-37.
