“Laguna Beach” ri vals Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari are apparently friends again.
The two, who famously clashed on “Laguna Beach” when Kristin made a play for Lauren’s then-boyfriend Stephen Colletti, were reunited Tuesday night in LA when Lauren presented her new fashion line at FashionWeekLA.
Kristin sat in the front row with Lauren’s BFFs (and co-stars on her current MTV series, “The Hills”) Whitney Port and Audrina Patridge, along with on-again, off-again boyfriends Colletti and Brody Jenner, plus “Laguna Beach” co-star Lauren Bosworth and wannabe scenester Frankie Delgado.
Conrad and “The Hills” return to MTV on March 24 for a run of 10 new episodes. When the last flight of original episodes ended in December, Lauren was seen flying off to Paris with Whitney to attend a fashion event for Teen Vogue, where they were then working.
Since then, Conrad, 22, has been working on her new collection in anticipation of this week’s fashion show, which unfortunately will not be seen in the upcoming season of “The Hills,” according to an MTV spokeswoman.
Reaction to her collection was mixed.
“Any hope that Lauren Conrad is the world’s next great designer was dashed by her first foray into the world of clothes. There was absolutely nothing new or innovative in her collection,” complained fashionwiredaily.com.
“The French flair – berets, leather gloves, and chic pumps – added a certain je ne sai quoi to the collection, and helped create the girl Lauren is trying to convey,” said fabsugar.com
“These pieces were an improvement from what we’ve seen from Lauren thus far. . . . These are clearly clothes Lauren and her posse want to wear.”
As for her friendship with Kristin, Lauren told eonline.com: “I think people just play up the fact that we didn’t get along two years ago. She’s a sweet girl, so we get along.”
