CURSE, SHOOT, KICK, REPEAT

THE lowbrow Hong Kong cop thriller “Flash Point” comes loaded with cliches and immediately starts blasting them in every direction.

Two gung-ho undercover cops infiltrate a Hong Kong gang but can’t control their tempers as an irascible boss tries to control them. A handful of decent action scenes are indifferently strung together: One of the cops has a girlfriend who manages to both get pregnant and get kidnapped, while lots of gunfights cease when both parties simultaneously run out of ammo and cheerfully turn to kick-boxing – which often seems to result in one guy wrapping his legs around another man’s face. Also, there’s an exploding chicken.

The movie comes out on DVD April 22. At home, the weird subtitles (“Don’t curse my mom!” “Stop yelling, you naked, horny, piece of meat!”) might provide amusement value if you add friends and a lot of drinks.
