WAR MADE EASY

WITH Sean Penn narrat ing, you know which side the documentary “War Made Easy” is going to take.

And it does, claiming that from Korea to Vietnam to Iraq, the US government has misled the public – and the media – on the reasons for going to war.

The film, directed by Loretta Alper and Jeremy Earp, is conventional and one-sided. It leaves most of the talking-head analysis to Norman Soloman, whose book “War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death” inspired the documentary.

Still, the filmmakers are often able to make a strong case for their contentions.

Running time: 73 minutes. Not rated (wartime images). At the Quad, 13th Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
