OWS cop blocking interview

A top cop caught on video dousing a group of Occupy Wall Street protesters with pepper spray in September 2011 is trying to dodge a grilling by an independent city panel over the incident.

Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna sued the Civilian Complaint Review Board yesterday to block a hearing about his behavior scheduled for this week.

His attorney, Louis La Pietra, said the interview was postponed until Friday.

He claims any action by the CCRB is time-barred since the events occurred over 18 months ago.

He noted that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office declined to charge Bologna in the spring and the NYPD has already docked him 10 vacation days.

City lawyer Eric Eichenholtz said he’s reviewing the inspector’s suit, but added, “It’s critical that the board can appropriately review the cases that it’s investigating.”
