TONI BRAXTON HOSPITALIZED

Toni Braxton was rushed to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas Monday night after complaining of chest pains. The Grammy-winning singer is in “good condition,” according to a statement released by Deanna Pettit of the Flamingo Hotel-Casino, where Braxton has been performing since 2006.

The 40 year old has been headlining in “Toni Braxton: Revealed” at Las Vegas’ The Flamingo since August 2006, and although she recently re-upped her contract to extend through August, the five-night-a-week show has apparently taken its toll on the mother of two. “If she doesn’t want to play that night, the show is cancelled,” a hotel employee said. “Sometimes she even cancels 30 minutes prior.”

Braxton has had reason to be cautious since she was diagnosed with a heart condition called pericarditis, which is an inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart. Braxton, who is an American Heart Association spokeswoman, found out about the condition after the birth of her second son, Diezel, on March 31, 2003.

“We wish Toni a quick recovery and would like her to take the time she needs to regain optimal health,” said Don Marrandino, president of Flamingo Las Vegas. “We are looking forward to her return at the end of the week.”
