MAYOR & BLAIR ARE CHEERIO

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair dropped in yesterday for a chat with Mayor Bloomberg, joining a growing list of political heavyweights who have been making the rounds at City Hall.

Other recent visitors have included former Vice President Al Gore, Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel and Bono, the U2 lead singer and activist.

Blair brushed by reporters after the one-hour session and declined to say anything, but Bloomberg said the discussion ran the gamut from philanthropy to British politics to congestion pricing.

“He’s very big in philanthropy. As you know, he cares very much about Africa, he’s got a number of projects working there, as do I in my foundation,” the mayor said.

“He thinks congestion pricing really had made a big difference in London. Kevin [Sheekey, the deputy mayor,] talked to him at length about that.”

The mayor said Blair’s wife and the mayor’s girlfriend, Diana Taylor, are friends but couldn’t get together yesterday because Taylor was in Boston. david.seifman@nypost.com
