FIZZ WITHOUT THE FAT

Coming soon to a restaurant or liquor store near you – bubbly that won’t make you tubby.

The House of Ayala, a 148-year-old French winery, hopes its reduced-calorie champagne will appeal to women and others watching their weight.

The magic behind the pink beverage? “No added sugar” – or, as they say in France, “zéro dosage.”

“Ours is the first zéro dosage rosé ever, loved by women because of its gorgeous pink color and no added sugar,” said Xavier Flouret, CEO of Cognac One LLC, which is reintroducing Ayala champagne to the US market.

A bottle of Ayala’s Brut Majeur Zéro Dosage costs about $45, with the “low-cal” line going up to $120 a bottle.
