BIG BLUE’S BLING HAS MASS. APPEAL

If the Patriots, no doubt still smarting from their devastating upset loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, want to get a sneak peek at the prized jewelry they missed out on earning, they don’t have to travel very far to take an envious look.

Tiffany & Co., after plenty of creative input from Giants ownership and players, designed the team’s official Super Bowl championship ring, but all or at least a good portion of the rings themselves are being produced for Tiffany at E.A. Dion, Inc., located in Attleboro, Mass.

Yup, that’s right, the rings will come to being not only in the Patriots’ home state, but merely 10 miles from their football home, Gillette Stadium, in Foxborough.

That’s probably in range of one of Bill Belichick’s spy cameras, if he’s inclined to see the treasure the Giants denied the Patriots back on Feb. 3 in Glendale, Ariz.

The Web site for E.A. Dion states the company specializes in “creative jewelry solutions for recognition, promotion and motivation.”

When contacted by The Post, a receptionist at E.A. Dion said she would check with the owners about what role the company played in producing the Giants rings. A moment later, she returned to the phone and said, “There is no comment at this time from the owner.”

Then she added, “I’m not even going to give you his name.”

The company Web site lists brothers Ted and Dennis Dion as owners of E.A. Dion.

Asked if E.A Dion actually will produce the ring for Tiffany & Co, The Post received the following e-mail response from Tom O’Rourke, vice president of Business Sales for Tiffany & Co:

“Tiffany & Co. does not disclose the names of its vendor partners; however at times, parts and/or pieces in their entirety are produced by select craftsmen outside of Tiffany & Co. manufacturing facilities in order to meet all of the company and client’s needs. For every product that bears the Tiffany & Co. name, our design and manufacturing teams ensure that all of Tiffany’s standards of excellence in product quality and design are met.”

The ring designed for the Giants features white gold, diamonds and the three Super Bowl trophies won by the franchise. The ring is quite large, in keeping with Michael Strahan’s hopes that it would be a “10-table ring,” meaning something so sizeable that it could be seen from 10 tables away.
