FEDERAL BELL TRIAL UNLIKELY

If the three undercover cops accused of shooting Sean Bell in a hail of 50 bullets are acquitted, federal prosecutors are not expected to go after the detectives, sources said yesterday.

“It would be very, very difficult to bring a federal prosecution because the basic facts are hard to prove in this case,” said a former federal prosecutor. Detectives Michael Oliver and Gescard Isnora are charged with manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment for the Nov. 25, 2006, shooting . Detective Marc Cooper is charged with reckless endangerment. Queens Supreme Judge Arthur Cooperman will render his verdict Friday.
