NYC LAWSUIT ACCUSES LOHAN OF TAKING MINK

A Columbia University student filed a lawsuit today against an “oppressive and malicious” Lindsay Lohan for allegedly fur-napping her prized mink coat.

Maria “Masha” Markova, 22, claims in a civil lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court that Lohan swiped her blond jacket “without claim of authority, privilege or right” in the early hours of Jan. 26 at 1Oak nightclub.

Markova, a model, thought the $11,000 gift from her grandmother was lost forever, until she saw Lohan – who was at the same party at 1Oak that early morning – weeks later wearing a blond mink in a host of magazine pictures, dated Jan. 26.

Markova said she put her fur coat in a common bin at 1Oak, which was closed for a private birthday bash.

After Markova called the club to complain and her lawyer reached out to Lohan’s attorneys, the coat was mysteriously returned on Feb. 14 with no explanation or apology.

“Defendant’s [Lohan’s] actions were intentional, oppressive and malicious and were carried out with reckless disregard for plaintiff’s rights,” according to the lawsuit.

“Plaintiff has been injured by the defendant’s actions.”

The Post published a series of photos two weeks ago that seem to show Lohan walking into 1Oak late night on Jan. 25 wearing a black coat and then later sashay ing out of the club – and around New York – wearing a blonde mink that looked exactly like Markova’s coat.

Markova did not list a money amount sought for damages. She and her lawyer have previously said they want $10,000 for the impromptu rental.

“We are seeking punitive damages, which can be substantial, especially if it turns out that the underlying facts amount to a crime, even though we’re seeking a civil, not criminal remedy,” said Markova’s lawyer, Merrill Cohen.

Lohan’s spokeswoman did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

Previously, Lohan’s publicist said a male friend in the actress’ party that night accidentally picked up a fur coat – but stopped short of admitting Lindsay had Markova’s coat.

The lawsuit implied that Lohan looked good in the mink coat and benefited from paparazzi snapping off pictures of her in the fur – all while Markova nervously believed the family gift was lost.

“Throughout this time, defendant used plaintiff’s blond mink coat for her own benefit and deprived plaintiff of her rightful possession and use of her property,” the lawsuit claims.
