R&B star R. Kelly engaged in steamy three-way sex sessions with an underage girl and another woman on at least three occasions – including double teaming the teen on a basketball court – over the course of two years, a key prosecution witness said today.
In her explosive testimony before a packed Chicago courtroom, Lisa Van Allen detailed how she, Kelly and the 13-year-old girl engaged in threesomes.
On one occasion in 1999 – following an awards ceremony at which Kelly had been honored – the Grammy Award-winner videotaped himself, Van Allen and the teen having sex on a black futon set up on his private basketball court, she said.
“He took up his camera and we took off our clothes and we all had sex again,” said Van Allen.
Kelly stopped filming after Van Allen, now 27, broke down in tears, she recalled.
“I didn’t want to do it,” she said. “[Kelly] stopped everything and we left.”
Kelly is charged with 14 counts of child pornography for allegedly videotaping himself having sex with the teen.
Kelly, 41, and the alleged victim have both denied being on the video and he has pleaded not guilty.
The singer, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, faces up to 15 years behind bars if convicted.
Van Allen said the raunchy video in which Kelly and the girl allegedly had sex, which was shown to jurors last month during opening arguments, was probably made in 1998 – the same year she had a threesome with them because “they both looked exactly the same way.”
Van Allen said Kelly paid her $20,000 last year in return for a videotape of the singer participating in a threesome with her and the girl.
She also said Kelly carried a duffel bag with his homemade porn wherever he went.
“If we was at the [music] studio, it was in the studio with him. If he was at [the gym], it would be at [the gym] with him,” she said.
Van Allen, who is currently engaged and the mother of a 5-year-old girl, said she met Kelly in 1997 when she was just 17.
She said the two instantly became lovers and that she moved from Atlanta to Chicago to be near the singer.
Van Allen testified that in 1998 Kelly took her to his former Chicago home, where she met the teen, who has not been identified.
On that occasion, Kelly taped them having sex. Van Allen said Kelly told her the alleged victim was 16.
“He had a stand and directed it toward where we were,” she said. “[Kelly] told us where to sit and basically what to do.”
On a third occasion, in 2000, Kelly, Van Allen and the girl romped again – this time in his trailer in Chicago during a video shoot, she said.
Van Allen also confessed she stole Kelly’s $22,000 Rolex watch from a Georgia hotel in 2001. She said she had been granted immunity from prosecution for child porn in return for her testimony.
