JACKMAN OKS ISLES DEAL

The Islanders and forward Tim Jackman have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension through 2008-09.

Jackman, 26, played in 36 games with the Islanders in his first season in the organization, scoring a goal with three assists for four points and 57 penalty minutes. He split time this past season between the Isles and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL.

In 44 games with the Sound Tigers, Jackman recorded 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points while recording 67 penalty minutes.

Jackman has appeared in 68 career NHL games, tallying two goals and five assists for seven points to go along with 104 penalty minutes.

Jackman signed with the Islanders as a free agent on July 5, 2007 after stints in the Columbus, Phoenix and Los Angeles organizations.
