A convicted killer has been busted for allegedly breaking into a slew of apartments by chiseling through hallway walls and doors into apartments in Chelsea and on the East Side.
In one, a woman watched Scott Morello, 43, as he tried to cut through her door on Lexington Avenue, authorities said.
“She looked through a peephole . . . and saw a man cutting a hole in her door,” a police report said, adding he fled after she screamed.
In another case, he allegedly smashed a hole in an apartment wall on West 14th Street, squeezed through, and stole a computer.
Morello was convicted of manslaughter after a knife fight in 1989.
