SUGAR AND ‘SLICE’

Dozens of gangster girls playing hooky from school battled each other in a bloody knife fight on the streets of Brooklyn yesterday afternoon that ended with two teens hospitalized and two more arrested on assault charges, cops said.

No one suffered life-threatening wounds in the fracas, which started shortly after noon in Sunset Park near Fourth Avenue at 18th Street.

Around 20 to 30 girls were attending a “hooky party” in a nearby apartment when the violence erupted, said cop sources.

When the first girl was slashed, the rumble spilled into the streets, where the second woman was injured, said police.

In the case of one victim, a police source said, a 15-year-old suspect held down the girl, while a 16-year-old slashed her.

The pair used a butterfly knife in the attack, said the source. Others in the group were armed with a variety of weapons, including knives and wooden sticks, said sources.

“There was a whole mass [of kids]. It was scary to see,” said Sonya Ramos, a 47-year-old housewife who watched the street battle from her home.

One of the victims’ shirts was soaked in blood as she sat, dazed, in an ambulance.

Both bloodied teens, one 17 and one 18, were treated at Lutheran Hospital for minor injuries.

The two suspects were charged with second-degree assault, criminal weapons possession and menacing. Because they are juveniles, police did not release their names.

As the two bloodied teens were being taken to the hospital, police ordered the rest of the group to disperse.

Investigators were sorting out the girls’ gang affiliations, said cops. All appeared to be wearing the same colors – black and white. Sunset Park is known to be rife with Mexican gangs.

Police said most of the girls were skipping classes at nearby Franklin D. Roosevelt HS.
